Choose a Starting Point

Applies to: all AppWizzy projects

Choose the starting point that most closely matches your required result. Every choice uses the same AppWizzy VM hosting platform.

Starting point Choose it when you need Examples
Classic hosting and runtimes A hosted server, runtime, or website that you control PHP, Python and Django, or WordPress
AI workspace A persistent environment for AI-assisted development or multi-step agent work AppWizzy Codex Desktop, AppWizzy Codex, or Hermes Agent
App Generation A custom application created from your requirements and data model The App Generation workflow
SaaS Engine A general full-stack application foundation with common SaaS features SaaS Engine
Vertical template A ready-made site or business application for a specific workflow Coaching, AI chat, legal governance, or foodservice

Choose classic hosting or a runtime

Choose this option when you already know the software stack that you need. You control the files, packages, services, and application configuration.

The current catalog provides these preconfigured hosting choices:

Read Classic Hosting for the common hosting model.

Choose an AI workspace

Choose an AI workspace when the development or agent environment is the product that you need.

Each template supports different access methods. Read its guide before you create the VM.

Choose App Generation

Choose App Generation when you want AppWizzy to create an application from requirements and a data model.

This workflow can include requirements, schema design, generated source code, previews, and application changes. These features do not apply to every template.

If you already have code, use External Code. It can start empty or import code from GitHub or a ZIP archive.

Choose SaaS Engine

Choose SaaS Engine when you need a general application foundation instead of an industry-specific workflow.

SaaS Engine includes a frontend, backend, database, authentication, roles, permissions, dashboards, and data-management features.

App Generation is the creation workflow. SaaS Engine is a template and application stack used with that workflow.

The SaaS Engine Developer Reference explains its architecture, authentication, interface, backend, integrations, and supported stack.

Choose a vertical template

Choose a vertical template when its existing workflow is close to the application or website that you need.

Current vertical starting points include:

  • Coaching Website Template, which starts with a WordPress coaching website.
  • AI Chat Workspace, which starts with an AI chat application.
  • Legal AI Governance Hub, which starts with AI governance workflows for legal teams.
  • Foodservice Business Portal, which starts with supplier and buyer workflows.

A vertical template is a starting application. You can customize its code and data for your requirements.

Before you create a project

  1. Open the Templates Overview.
  2. Confirm that the template supports your required software and access methods.
  3. Review the displayed template fee and VM hosting rate.
  4. Select one of the machine sizes available for that template.
  5. Follow Create a Hosted Machine.
