External Code

External Code is the AppWizzy development template for project creation and existing source code.

AppWizzy uses this template in the Build Anything process, code import process, and AppWizzy Projects MCP.

Choose a starting source

You can create an External Code project from:

  • a project description in the Build Anything process.
  • a connected GitHub repository.
  • a ZIP archive.
  • an AppWizzy Projects MCP request.

The GitHub import interface currently supports repositories with a React frontend and Node.js backend.

The web ZIP upload limit is 100 MB. AppWizzy imports the archive contents into the project repository.

Create from Build Anything

  1. Open Build Anything or Create New App.
  2. Describe the project.
  3. Select the External Code template.
  4. Select an available machine size.
  5. Review the displayed charges.
  6. Confirm creation.

AppWizzy creates the project record and starts the VM. The development agent receives your project description.

Import a GitHub repository

Connect your GitHub account before you import a repository. Private repositories require an authorized GitHub connection.

Select the repository in the import interface. AppWizzy creates a project and prepares the repository in its VM workspace.

Import a ZIP archive

Select a ZIP archive in the import interface. AppWizzy creates a project repository from the archive contents.

Keep one project at the archive root when possible. Remove secrets and unnecessary build files before upload.

Create through AppWizzy Projects MCP

The customer MCP can create only the MCP-enabled External Code template.

An MCP client can start without imported code. It can also use one connected GitHub repository or one prepared ZIP upload.

Work with the project

The project VM contains the development workspace and terminal tools. SSH access is available for direct terminal work.

Use the project page to monitor provisioning and open the available project interfaces.

A pause preserves files on the active disk. See VM Lifecycle and Billing.
