Classic Hosting

Applies to: the common hosting layer for AppWizzy VMs

Classic Hosting describes the common VM hosting model. It is not a separate card in the current template catalog.

Use this guide to understand the VM resources and responsibilities that support AppWizzy templates.

When this guide applies

Use the template catalog to select the closest starting environment for your workload.

The selected template defines its preinstalled runtime, application, and access methods.

You can install other compatible software inside the VM through SSH.

What the hosting layer provides

The common AppWizzy hosting layer provides:

  • a hosted VM.
  • CPU and memory from the selected machine size.
  • persistent active disk storage.
  • SSH access.
  • VM lifecycle controls.
  • daily system backups and restoration.
  • network access for your hosted services.

The common hosting layer does not imply a specific runtime, database, content management system, desktop, or AI workspace.

Create a hosted VM

  1. Open the AppWizzy template catalog.
  2. Select the template that best matches your workload.
  3. Select one of the machine sizes shown for the template.
  4. Review the displayed charge.
  5. Create the project and wait for provisioning.

The creation interface shows current machine sizes and rates. Read Create a Hosted Machine for the complete process.

Connect and install your software

Open the project after provisioning. Use the project settings to enable SSH access and obtain the connection details.

Install only software that supports the VM operating system and selected resources. Keep all private keys and passwords secure.

The project page shows any additional access methods that are available for this template.

Maintain your VM

AppWizzy operates and patches the hosting infrastructure. You maintain the operating system and all software inside your VM.

You are responsible for:

  • operating system updates.
  • runtime and package updates.
  • application configuration.
  • user accounts and permissions.
  • firewall and service configuration inside the VM.
  • application data and secrets.

Storage and lifecycle

The active disk survives pause, resume, restart, and machine size changes. A restart stops running processes and clears memory state.

Deletion removes the VM and its active disk. Read VM Lifecycle and Billing before a destructive action.

AppWizzy creates at least one system backup each day. Read Data Persistence and Backups for restoration details.
