Project and Machine Settings

Applies to: all AppWizzy projects

Project settings contain common controls and template-specific controls. AppWizzy shows only sections that apply to the project and your account.

Open the project and select Settings. Review the complete page before you save a change.

Common project settings

Common settings can include:

  • project name.
  • project visibility.
  • service URL.
  • CPU and memory information.
  • project deletion.

The environment section shows the deployed service information. A project can show one environment or separate development and production environments.

Environment names and database details apply only when the selected template provides them.

Change the project name

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Enter the new project name.
  3. Select Save.

Use a short name that identifies the workload. A name change does not replace the VM, active disk, or installed template.

Change project visibility

The Private option controls project visibility in AppWizzy. Private projects require an eligible paid plan.

Visibility does not replace authentication inside your application, VM, Remote Desktop, or browser workspace. Configure each supported access method separately.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Select or clear Private.
  3. Select Save.
  4. Confirm the new access behavior.

Keep a VM active

Hosted VM projects can show Always On. Enable it when the environment must run continuously.

When Always On is disabled, AppWizzy can pause the VM after inactivity. A pause preserves the active disk and stops network services.

An active VM continues to use paid hosting periods. Read VM Lifecycle and Billing before you change this setting.

Change the machine size

Hosted VM projects can show Machine type. The selected machine size controls CPU, memory, and the hosting rate.

  1. Confirm that the VM status is ready.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Select an available machine size.
  4. Review the new rate.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Wait for the resize to finish.
  7. Test the application and required services.

AppWizzy stops the VM during the resize. It starts the VM with the same active disk after it changes CPU and memory.

Manage template access

Settings can show access information for the selected template. This information can include:

  • AppWizzy Codex URL and password.
  • Remote Desktop URL and VNC password.
  • Hermes dashboard URL, username, password, and API key.
  • SSH status, private key, and connection command.
  • application-specific administrator credentials.

Use reveal controls only in a private location. Store copied credentials in a password manager.

The project owner or an administrator can rotate both AppWizzy Codex Desktop workspace passwords. SSH access has separate enable, verify, rotate, and revoke controls.

App Generation settings

App Generation projects can provide additional settings. These settings can include:

  • source-code download and GitHub connection.
  • project clone.
  • development and stable service information.
  • database connection information.
  • generated application rebuild controls.

These controls are not standard VM operations. Follow the App Generation guide before you use a destructive database or rebuild action.

Do not describe Drop DB and Rebuild as a VM restart. It can remove generated application data.

Collaborator access

Project collaborators can open settings and use controls available to their accounts. Their changes can affect project access, operation, and cost.

The project owner controls collaborator membership and project deletion. Review Collaborators and Workspace Access before you share a project.

Delete the project

Delete Project disables the project and starts infrastructure cleanup. Active custom domains can block deletion until you disconnect them.

Deletion removes the VM and its active disk. Export all required data before you confirm this action.
