AppWizzy Codex Desktop

AppWizzy Codex Desktop provides several development interfaces on one persistent Ubuntu VM.
Use this template when you need graphical desktop tools and Codex access to the same project files.
Included environment
The template includes:
- Ubuntu 26.04 Desktop.
- a protected Remote Desktop interface in your browser.
- Codex Desktop.
- a protected AppWizzy Codex browser workspace.
- Codex CLI.
- Chrome, Git, Node.js, and terminal tools.
- SSH access.
- an AppWizzy mobile connection.
- a persistent
/workspacedirectory.
All interfaces connect to the same VM. Files in /workspace remain available across these interfaces.
The default machine has 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, and a 50 GB disk.
AppWizzy shows only the machine sizes that support this template. Review the current rate before you create the VM.
Create the workspace
- Open the AppWizzy template catalog.
- Select AppWizzy Codex Desktop.
- Enter the project name.
- Select an available machine size.
- Review the displayed charges.
- Create the project.
Wait until the project status is ready. AppWizzy creates the complete workspace without a schema or generator prompt.

Open each interface
Open the project overview after provisioning.
- Select Open Remote Desktop for the Ubuntu desktop.
- Select Open AppWizzy Codex for browser-based Codex sessions.
- Select Configure SSH to add or rotate an SSH key.
- Select Connect mobile to open the mobile connection settings.
Project settings show separate passwords for Remote Desktop and AppWizzy Codex.
The project owner or an administrator can rotate both workspace passwords together. Existing browser sessions will close after rotation.
Choose an AI access mode
The AppWizzy managed AI proxy works when the workspace starts. Managed AI usage appears in AppWizzy billing.
You can also use a personal ChatGPT login or a provider API key through BYOK.

Pause or resume the workspace
A pause stops the VM and its interfaces. It preserves data on the active disk.
Resume the VM before you open Remote Desktop, Codex, SSH, or the mobile connection.

Protect workspace access
Anyone with workspace credentials can access project files, terminal history, browser sessions, and stored authentication data.
Rotate workspace passwords when access changes. Remove personal sessions and provider keys before you transfer the project.
