Generated Application Source Code

Applies to: App Generation projects that use the SaaS Engine template

AppWizzy stores the generated application source in the project workspace and its internal Git repository.

You can review source in the browser. Export actions can require source-code access for the specific project.

Source code and VM data

Generated source code is only one part of the project. It does not include the complete VM disk or application data.

A source archive or GitHub repository does not include these items:

  • database records.
  • uploaded files outside the repository.
  • environment secrets.
  • browser profiles.
  • terminal history.
  • operating-system state.

Use source versions for code recovery. Use VM backups for hosted-system restoration.

Review and edit source in AppWizzy

Select Code Editor in the project navigation. The editor reads the current files from the hosted development workspace.

Select a text file to review it. Select Edit to change it, then select Save.

A file save creates a Git commit for that file. The main Save control creates a version for all current source changes.

Read Code Editor for the browser workflow.

Activate export access

The Code menu locks export actions when source-code access is not active.

Select a locked action to review the charge. Confirm the activation only when the displayed project and amount are correct.

Activation can require a paid AppWizzy plan and sufficient credits. The interface shows the applicable requirement before approval.

The entitlement remains attached to that project after GitHub disconnection.

Free source templates can provide export access without an activation charge.

Download the source repository

  1. Open the project overview or editor.
  2. Select Code.
  3. Select Download.
  4. Activate source access when required.
  5. Save the ZIP file.

Save important edits before download. The archive comes from the project's current internal repository.

The archive is not a database backup or VM image. Review its environment examples before local use.

Send source to GitHub

Select Push to Github from the Code menu. AppWizzy can create a repository and send the project source to it.

GitHub connection uses the same project source entitlement. Read GitHub Integration before you edit both repositories.

Open VS Code for the Web

After GitHub connection, select Open in VSCode Web. AppWizzy opens the repository on github.dev in a new browser tab.

Changes in VS Code for the Web belong to the GitHub repository. Pull them into AppWizzy before you continue platform editing.

Before an external deployment

Review these items outside AppWizzy:

  • runtime versions.
  • database creation and migrations.
  • required environment variables.
  • file storage.
  • background workers.
  • domain and TLS configuration.
  • third-party service credentials.

AppWizzy VM settings do not transfer automatically with a source export.
