AppWizzy Templates Overview

Applies to: all AppWizzy hosted VM templates

An AppWizzy template is a preconfigured VM image with a starting environment. It can include a runtime, workspace, website, or application.

All templates use the same AppWizzy hosting platform. The selected template determines the installed software, initial content, access methods, and supported workflows.

Classic hosting, runtimes, and sites

The current catalog provides classic hosting through preconfigured runtime and site templates.

Template Starting environment
PHP Instant Runtime A Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP environment
Python and Django Runtime A Python, Django, Django REST Framework, and database environment
WordPress Template A WordPress environment with WP-CLI
Coaching Website Template A WordPress coaching site with booking and payment foundations

Use these templates when you need a known runtime or website stack. Read Classic Hosting for the shared hosting concepts.

AI workspaces

AI workspace templates provide a ready environment for AI-assisted development or agent work.

Template Starting environment
AppWizzy Codex Desktop An Ubuntu desktop with Codex interfaces, development tools, Remote Desktop, and SSH
AppWizzy Codex A protected browser-based Codex workspace on a Linux VM
Hermes Agent A persistent Hermes dashboard and workspace for multi-step tasks

These templates can support managed AI through AppWizzy. Personal ChatGPT login or BYOK support depends on the selected template.

Read AI Access Modes and Billing before you select an AI access mode.

App Generation and SaaS Engine

App Generation creates and changes a custom application from requirements and a data model. It is a workflow on the AppWizzy hosting platform.

SaaS Engine is a horizontal application template. It provides a full-stack foundation for data-driven SaaS applications and internal tools.

Use the App Generation documentation for requirements, schema, generation, preview, source code, and application changes.

Use the SaaS Engine Developer Reference for its architecture, authentication, UI, backend, integrations, and supported stack.

External Code supports compatible creation flows that start empty or import existing code. AppWizzy Projects MCP uses this template.

Ready-made business applications

Ready-made application templates start with an existing product structure and workflow. Select one when its subject and data model match your project.

Template Starting application
AI Chat Workspace An AI chat product with agents, conversations, users, plans, and administration
Legal AI Governance Hub A legal AI governance portal with intake, reviews, policies, vendors, and audit records
Foodservice Business Portal A supplier and buyer portal with catalogs, prices, orders, quotes, and samples

These templates are starting applications. They do not guarantee that every integration or business requirement is complete for your organization.

What all hosted VM templates share

All hosted VM templates use these common platform functions:

  • VM provisioning and lifecycle controls.
  • persistent active disk storage.
  • SSH access.
  • eligible machine size selection.
  • AppWizzy infrastructure operation and patching.
  • daily VM backups and restoration from a backup.

Browser access, Remote Desktop, mobile access, application credentials, and AI modes depend on the selected template.

Read AppWizzy Hosting Overview for the common platform behavior.

Template software and existing projects

A template supplies the starting software for a new VM. AppWizzy does not automatically patch the operating system or application software inside your VM.

You maintain the software and access that you control. A later catalog change does not automatically replace your current VM software.

Some templates can provide a destructive reset or rebuild action. Read the template guide before you use that action.

Costs and machine sizes

A free template has no one-time template license fee. VM hosting and managed AI remain separate costs.

A paid template can have a one-time license fee. The creation interface shows the available machine sizes and charges for your selection.

Read Pricing, Plans, and Credits for the billing model.
